03 Balancing writing with - writing?
Seeing hard work and patience finally *pay* off – literally.
Nearly 3 weeks into March – much has been achieved but sadly not in the way of novel writing.
Actually, that’s not completely true.
After months of graft and patience, I am finally starting to reap the benefits of writing and creating.
The first comes through referrals on my YouTube video and blog post about this diffuser.
Second; through the freelancing platform that is… Fiverr!
Since adding gigs (services) to my profile back in October, I’d convinced myself it has been absorbed into the depths of the internet, like the many other creators trying to start a side hustle. But, low and behold, someone took a chance on me and has since placed multiple orders! Even though I’ve been writing blogs for a measly fee, my heart quickens a little each time I see a notification come through.
There’s nothing better than feeling rewarded for your work. It’s still early doors for me, so hopefully I can charge a little more in a few months' time!
Have you dipped your toe into the freelancing pool?
Everyone has to start somewhere. And that includes writing a novel.
Being in the creative space can be an exhausting (that’s not to discredit any other job) and often long process, as projects take time to mould and perfect before they’re completed – although this then goes down the path of whether a piece of art is ever complete.
You’ll notice there’s no update to my word count at the start of this newsletter. It has been going up, but I can’t give a number at this moment.
It will appear in the next one, as I’ve been changing up the way I write as I still battle with burnout, but I’ll dive more into how I’ve been getting words out next time (If you want to find out, you can subscribe for free - if you’re not already).
In the meantime, I hope you are well and look forward to bringing you a little more inspiration in the next Transparent Page.
I’ve got some exciting stuff that I can’t wait to share with you!
